Bathtubs delivered, some plumbing pipes in, more duct work, and shingling started on the garage. (Terrible pictures today - didn't get one of the tub or of the shingles really. ha!)
Heating guys were there and have started cutting out rectangles for the heating duct work to be installed. Plumbing guys have been there too - started checking things out. Brady and I made a change to the back entry and also the heating mechanical chase needed to be modified to make way for the duct work without cutting a load-bearing floor beam. So, we have a new configuration for the garage entry which includes a laundry room/half bath, a small closet for stuff like the vacuum, and also an area we can put a bench in for getting shoes on. There were already some walls up so a little framing re-doing had to be done... bummer. But, better now than later. They were also doing a little more framing: The kitchen corner pantry is in. Siding was in fact delivered. Some building materials were returned to Simonson as framing is wrapping up. No pictures today - we were just talking and it was the end of their workday.
Some vent holes cut in the main floor, holes cut for the toilets too. Whoa. We made a change to a toilet location on Friday - just in time! I think the interior framing is basically done. Siding is supposed to be delivered tomorrow!
Dining Room bump out constructed. Master bath and kitchen windows installed. Met with builder and contractor at Lowe's to start talking about things we need to pick out and think about and they showed us some options and things to consider. Among the decisions: Newel Posts. Had a quick discussion on the spelling of newel. There is no "k" in newel. There's no "u" either.
Busy day! The windows were delivered yesterday and today they are starting the window installation.
As of noon, there were 2 windows put in, some Tyvek wrap around the outside of the house, and a dump truck full of black dirt was waiting for some machinery to unload the dirt into our back yard.
At 4pm, most windows are in, including back upstairs, all front (except front door sidelights), all basement, one garage, and the living room picture window! And, the backyard was filled with black dirt.
Garage roof finished, ready for shingles. Interior framing work including moving a wall, adding a trap door to cover the basement steps and constructing the bump-out part of the dining room. Some window openings were cut through the plywood. An electric furnace was installed so heat the basement temporarily until the permanent gas furnace is installed.
