Rafters up!  Starting to really look like a house, now!

Raising the Roof

Wednesday, November 17, 2010
Rafters are being put on as I type! (Couldn't resist this quick post during the day - Brady saw the crane on the way to daycare this morning so he dropped off the kids and buzzed back for a few "action shots" via cell phone camera.)

Half the stairs going up are in and some walls have been raised.  We went up there today and got some pics of the view from our 2-story house!

All exterior walls on main floor up

Thursday, November 4, 2010
All exterior walls up on main floor and some inside walls, too.  We had a late(r) change to the master bath configuration but already, with only floor trusses and walls up, and it was a domino effect!  It can easily be done, but it's amazing that moving the toilet from one side of the room to another was that impacting!  But it's great to be so involved in the way everything looks.  There will be a couple days of not much change now because we have to wait for the upstairs floor trusses to come in.  (Not to mention our trips to CO and WI these next couple of days)  The next post should be next Wednesday or Thursday if everything stays on schedule.  Oh, we noticed that the picture window in the living room almost perfectly frames the trees in the backyard.  Pretty awesome.  The house that is being built next door is now sold, too.  It's amazing how quickly this development is going up.

Floor Trusses and Floor Down

Tuesday, November 2, 2010
Floor Trusses in and Floor Down.  We can walk over the basement already!
Oh, and the new-construction house next door to the east has white siding, which is great because we aren't picking white anyway.  And, our next-door-neighbor to the west (the empty lot) has a sold sign in front of it.
