Front peak and sofits completed, more progress on west side siding.  Ceiling in basement sheetrocked.  More sheetrock mudding done inside, too.  Really helped that Wednesday was in the 20's above instead of 20's below!

Mudding and Taping

Monday January 17 - Friday January 21, 2011

Only indoor work since the temperature has been about 10 below on average.  The drywall guy has been taping and mudding all week.  They took a piece or 2 of sheetrock off the wall in the stairwell so that when they deliver the sheetrock for the basement, they can just deliver it right into the basement and not have to turn the corner in the stairwell while hauling 8-12 ft sheets of sheetrock.  Brady pulled coaxial cable in the basement family room.  Sheetrock is delivered for basement walls and ceiling.  No pictures - the house looks about the same as the last post!

More of the siding on the front of the house is done.  It's been so cold and snowy that it's been not good conditions for siding a house.  (it was -18 this morning and yesterday marked the 19th consecutive day of at least a trace of snow)  Sheetrock taping is going great (inside a heated house!)

Sheetrock mess cleaned up and paper laid on all floors.  Scaffolding set up.  Mudding and taping begins.  Had the electrical inspector in (no charge – yay!) and Brady only had to secure one wire.  Got the go-ahead to sheetrock the basement family room.  All 4 of us went to the house – the kids played on the plasma car and scooter and “helped” sweep.  Brady fixed the wire, and I did some sweeping, too.  Kinda fun to hang out in our new house – crazy!

Sheetrock hanging day 2 of 2.  Entire main floor and upstairs sheetrock is completely hung.  Also, sheetrock in the garage is done on walls that are shared with the house and the ceiling.
